Monday, March 13, 2017
Members Present: Jeff Jordan, Tom Jameson, Ed Millette, Jodi Pinard Town Administrator, Kristy Barnouski Administrative Assistant
Others Present: Evelyn Pike, Ewen MacKinnon II, Jim Plunkett, Chief Quimby, Chief Clarke, Donna Chagnon and other members of the public.
Call to Order Mr. Jordan called the meeting to order at 6:30pm
The Board of Selectmen met with the Town Clerk, Moderator and safety officers to discuss the postponing of the Town Elections scheduled on Tuesday March 14th, 2017 with the impending Nor’easter headed to New England.
Mrs. Pinard recapped the suggestions of the Secretary of State’s office (SOS), the Attorney General’s office (AG), Department of Transportation (DOT) and NH Municipal Managers Association (NHMMA) along with the Governor and Town council. There were conflicting suggestions between parties. The SOS suggested that there may be legal implications by postponing and suggested to hold the election. The Town council and NHMMA suggested that it was completely in the rights of the Moderator to postpone the election due to inclement weather.
The Board reached the consensus that it would be in the best interest of the residents of Chichester to postpone the election.
The Moderator ultimately decided that due to the impending snow storm, it was in the best interest of the Town to postpone the election from Tuesday March 14, 2017 from 10am-7pm until Thursday March 16, 2017 from 7am-7pm for added convenience for voters.

Being no further discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Jordan and seconded by Mr. Millette to adjourn the meeting at 7:45pm. Motion passes.
